Case Study: Building From Zero to $1M

From Solo Consultant to a Scalable Personal Brand Business

He Had the Audience. But He Was Building Alone.

A founder with a strong Instagram presence and established network was ready to step into building his own personal brand.

He had the expertise. He had the audience. He knew there was demand for high-ticket coaching.

But behind the scenes, there was nothing set up to support it.

No team.
No systems.
No infrastructure to actually run a business at scale.

At the time, he was still consulting for another company. This new venture was something he wanted to build alongside that work, but doing it alone quickly became overwhelming.

It wasn’t just operationally heavy. It was isolating. Every decision, every moving piece, every next step sat with him.

The opportunity was there. The backend wasn’t.

The Engagement

Jess was brought in as a Fractional DOO to build the business from the ground up.

This wasn’t about optimizing an existing operation. It was about creating the entire foundation from scratch, turning a personal brand into a functioning, scalable company.

The work spanned across people, process, and execution.

Jess led the full build-out of the team, hiring, onboarding, and managing a group of 5–10 contractors across key functions. This included a virtual assistant, community manager, outsourced sales team, PR, website developer, video editor, and YouTube thumbnail designer. Each role was clearly defined so the founder wasn’t the default for every decision or task.

At the same time, all core systems and processes were created from the ground up. This included setting up the full tech stack, building workflows for content and production, creating onboarding and delivery systems inside Kajabi, and establishing the operational structure needed to support both 1:1 and group coaching programs.

Jess also supported the creation and launch of the offers themselves. Courses and coaching programs were structured, built, and delivered with systems in place to ensure consistency as the business grew.

The founder remained focused on marketing and sales, leveraging his audience and network, while Jess ensured everything behind the scenes could actually support that growth.

The Outcome

Within the first year, the business generated $1M in revenue.

What started as a solo effort became a fully supported operation with a team, systems, and clear structure in place.

The founder was not carrying the weight of the business alone.
He had a team executing, systems running, and space to focus on what he does best.

The growth was driven by his audience and visibility.
The sustainability came from building the backend to support it.
